Dear Parents,
Hello, my name is Dawn Battaglia. I would like to personally thank you for being proactive in your childs educational experience, and for your interest in learning more about how Sunrise Reading can help your child exceed their academic goals.
If you or your child have been frustrated while learning to read or discouraged by lackluster results, rest assured you are not alone. I talk to parents all the time that tell me that their children are discouraged, and often they are worried for their child's academic future. In the last 20 years, there has been an increasing disparity between how Educators have been teaching reading to students, and what "actually works". Many effective teaching strategies from previous generations have been lost in the modern age, only to be replaced with confusing and ineffective teaching concepts. The outcome is that more students than ever are struggling, and functional literacy rates are steeply in decline. The worst part is that many times, a child's natural love of learning dies along the way. For many kids, learning has become a chore.
The Good news is that with the right guidance, your child can succeed in learning to read, and learn to love it along the way. My method combines the best of current science-based reading instruction, and proven teaching principles that have stood the test of time. When these tools are combined with the right mix of inspiration, motivation, and love, the results can be life-changing.
I have been successfully employing this method for over 20 years to countless students during my years teaching pre-school, elementary, high school, and special education students. This is the same method which I have used to teach 4 of my own home-schooled children to learn to read. As a family, our learning adventure has been fun, and created a foundation for my 2 older children to maintain 4.0 grade average during thier college experience.
